Safety Tips

Your safety is our priority

At Swayamvarams, we're committed to providing a safe and secure environment for you to find your life partner. Please read these important safety guidelines carefully and follow them when using our platform.

In Case of Emergency

If you feel unsafe or threatened, contact local authorities immediately. If you experience harassment or abuse on our platform, report it to us at safety@swayamvarams.comor use the in-app reporting feature.

Online Safety

Protect Your Personal Information

Don't share your full name, home address, workplace details, or financial information until you've established trust. Keep communication within the platform initially.

Use Strong Passwords

Create a unique, strong password for your Swayamvarams account. Never share your password with anyone, and enable two-factor authentication if available.

Be Careful with Photos

Only share photos you're comfortable with. Avoid sharing photos that reveal your exact location, license plates, or other identifying information.

Guard Your Phone Number

Don't share your personal phone number immediately. Use the platform's messaging system until you feel comfortable and have verified the person's identity.

Meeting in Person

Meet in Public Places

Always meet for the first few times in busy, public places like cafes, restaurants, or shopping centers. Avoid isolated locations or meeting at someone's home.

Tell Someone Where You're Going

Always inform a trusted friend or family member about your plans, including where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to return.

Arrange Your Own Transportation

Drive yourself or use your own transportation. Don't accept rides from someone you've just met, and never share your home address on the first meeting.

Stay Sober

Keep a clear head during meetings. Be mindful of your alcohol consumption and never leave your drink unattended.

Trust Your Instincts

If something feels wrong or uncomfortable, leave immediately. You don't owe anyone an explanation. Your safety comes first.

Warning Signs & Red Flags

Too Good to Be True

Be wary of profiles that seem perfect or too polished. Scammers often use fake photos and create idealized personas to gain trust.

Asks for Money

NEVER send money or financial help to someone you've met online, regardless of their story. This is a common scam tactic. Report immediately.

Rushes Intimacy or Commitment

Be cautious of anyone who professes strong feelings very quickly or pressures you to move off the platform or meet immediately.

Refuses Video Calls

If someone consistently avoids video calls or meeting in person while maintaining online contact, they may be hiding their true identity.

Inconsistent Stories

Pay attention if someone's story changes or details don't add up. This could indicate dishonesty about their identity or intentions.

Aggressive or Controlling Behavior

Watch for signs of possessiveness, jealousy, or attempts to control or isolate you from friends and family, even in early conversations.

Financial Safety

Never Send Money

Do not send money, gifts, or financial assistance to anyone you meet on the platform, regardless of the reason or how convincing their story may be.

Protect Financial Information

Never share bank account details, credit card numbers, PINs, or other financial information with potential matches.

Be Wary of Investment Schemes

Scammers may try to involve you in investment opportunities or business ventures. Always verify independently before making any financial decisions.

Privacy Protection

Control Your Profile Visibility

Review your privacy settings regularly. Control who can see your profile and personal information.

Google Your Date

Do some research before meeting. Search their name, look them up on social media, and verify the information they've shared with you.

Reverse Image Search

Use reverse image search tools to verify that profile photos haven't been stolen from somewhere else online.

Reporting Concerns

Report Suspicious Behavior

If you encounter suspicious profiles, scams, harassment, or inappropriate behavior, report it immediately using our in-app reporting feature or email safety@swayamvarams.com

Block and Report

Use the block feature to prevent unwanted contact. Blocking someone also removes them from seeing your profile.

We Take Action

All reports are reviewed promptly. We take appropriate action including warnings, account suspension, or permanent bans for policy violations.

Family Involvement

Involve Your Family

Keep your family informed about your matchmaking journey. Their perspective and support can be valuable in making important decisions.

Verify Background Information

When things get serious, consider doing proper background verification through trusted channels. Verify employment, education, and family details.
